Ukraine's prostitutes hope to cash in on Euro 2012 | Fox News Latino
This is much more adult topic but one that is likely to spark some interesting events in the Euro 2012 games. Femen, an activist group that likes to call attention to the victimization of Ukrainian women in the sex trade and garners news media attention by hosting topless protests, is targeting the euro 2012 games. With 1 out of 10 prostitutes carrying HIV/AIDS workers are out handing out condoms and warning tourists about the dangers. With high unemployment in many areas of the Ukraine, this is just one example of what young desperate women do to try to help their families survive. The perception of women in this trade here is that of “culprits not victims” according to the article and this angers the protest group. This is only a topic for older students or college age students.
