Wow! That is a great blog post! I am new to blogging, trying to find a voice and get my feet wet. I want to introduce blogging to the students I work with next year (I teach intervention math to 5th and 6th grade students) so I felt it was important to do it myself first. I also want to get my colleagues more involved in 21st century skills as we are lacking in this important area of education and life.
I have a tendency to immerse myself in things and get lost. Balance is always something I am striving for and hearing it from someone else helps. I have been in a 5 year stretch at the school I work in where there has been a lot of anger about math (we are using a constructivist type program). I have been working to provide students with the best education possible. People like yourself help me learn, understand, and keep in focus what is most important in my professional life (the students) and personal life (family and friends).
Thanks
Dan Rehman
