Excellent article on the seven spaces of learning from Ewan McIntosh. He states that schools need seven types of spaces: secret spaces, group spaces, publishing spaces, performing spaces, participation spaces, data spaces, and watching spaces. This is really quite a brilliant model that architects, planners, and administrators should review, particularly those in the planning process right now. Ewan is an expert in this area and someone I go to for understanding structural school design, an area I don't know a lot about myself.

PBL Research Summary: Studies Validate Project-Based Learning | Edutopia
An older article from 2001 (10 years a go now!) that discusses various research about the effectiveness of project based learning and the meaningful use of technology. On this new year, the question is have we really learned from this or are we still discussing how to do PBL ten years later?
