I started school today. I told the students, “I’m more like a miner of gold than a teacher. There is gold inside you and I want to find it. It won’t look like gold when we dig it out, but if we work together to recognize the value of your talents and polish them together, you’ll come out shining. That is my purpose.”

I didn’t plan it. It came out. I don’t know from where but it is who I am and who I want to be. I’m a miner. An identifier of rare treasure. The treasure within children needs to be discovered. Who will join with me?
