Connecting Your Classroom in World Class Ways Even When at a Distance

Description: During distance learning, Vicki Davis not only helped her school go online for grades K3-12th without any missed instructional days but she created two “enrichment classes.” Her Artificial Intelligence Course had students interview top AI experts from around the world and engage with learning using Flipgrid and other tools. Not only did 93% of the students successfully complete course content, but students created a collaborative presentation to conclude the course. In this session, Vicki will share best practices for integrating the 4C's of Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Critical Thinking while teaching at a distance. She'll share best practices not only from this course but from the 30+ online collaborative classes she's worked with since 2006.

This is going to be an incredible event with many authors and speakers. I'm just one presentation in a much larger, free event. Join us and register – https://iceconference.org/registration/ .

On Thursday, Apr. 23 at 4 p.m. Eastern Time Vicki Davis will present Differentiating Instruction with Technology: A Framework for Success, a Webinar for the edWeb Community. The webinar is open to the public.

When technology integration is at its best, a student or a teacher does not stop to think that he or she is using a technology tool – it’s second nature. Students are more actively engaged in projects when technology tools are a seamless part of the learning process. In this webinar, “Cool Cat Teacher” Vicki Davis will present ways you can differentiate instruction in your K–12 classroom with technology. You’ll hear about integrating various types of technology—computers, smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, social media platforms, software applications, and the Internet—into daily classroom practices, as well as the management of a school. Vicki will focus on ways that you can use these technologies to transform your teaching and meet the unique needs of every learner in your classroom. She will share a proven framework for successfully differentiating instruction with technology, including the following:

• Tips for making technology use routine and transparent
• Ensuring technology is accessible to the task at hand
• Strategies for using technology to support curricular goals
• Strategies for using technology to help your students effectively reach their goals

Join Vicki for this live, interactive event to learn how to more effectively use technology to advance learning for all of your students. She will field questions from attendees after her presentation.
