Next time I teach PowerPoint, I'm using this video!
It is on myspace, but as you see at the bottom, not appropriate to reference, but the video is more clear over there.
(Hat tip to iteachucomputers over at Jaiku — note I use twitku which pulls together twitter AND Jaiku).

Brilliant! I have lost count of the number of times I have tried to make these points during both PowerPoint and presentation skills workshops! If I never see another bullet point again, it will be too soon!
Hi Vicki:
I found that video to be great and created a bit of a mashup with it for an instructor at my school struggling with these concepts.
I originally found it on this great blog that you might find of interest: http://www.presentationzen.com/presentationzen/
I just watched this video again and was reminded that I once did a presentation for a school district and I was asked if I was going to use powerpoint. I wasn’t, but asked why they would ask. I was told that it is IN THEIR CONTRACT that presenters may NOT read powerpoint slides to them.
I didn’t konw how to respond that bit of information. :-)
Karyn – Sometimes humor does more than all of the lectures we can give.
Ryan — I love Presentation zen — it is a great blog. I found it through twitter — someone twitted it. (Was it you?)
Jim — That is funny that the reading of powerpoint slides would be in their contract. WOW!
