It is my pleasure to introduce classroom teacher, Vicki Davis. She is author of the Cool Cat Teacher blog and tweets to more than 50,000 educators each day. As co-founder of the Flat Classroom projects, she created 7 projects that connect K12 students and their teachers in powerful online projects.

Vicki Davis is a teacher and the IT director at Westwood Schools in Camilla, Georgia. Vicki co-created seven award winning international projects, including the Flat Classroom® with teacher Julie Lindsay. These projects help K12 teachers merge their classrooms to co-create, innovate, and understand other cultures. She co-wrote Flattening Classrooms, Engaging Minds from Pearson Publishing and is currently writing her second book Reinventing Writing: the 9 tools that are changing writing, learning and living forever and how to teach with them.
Vicki has been featured in various media including Thomas Friedman's book, The World is Flat, Don Tapscott's Grown Up Digital, the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the Boston Globe and more. Vicki blogs at the Cool Cat Teacher blog which has been consistently named a top teacher blog in education and received many awards. She was also named a pioneer in Open Source Virtual World Technology. Vicki is also a writer and conference presenter. Vicki Davis is a teacher and the IT director at Westwood Schools in Camilla, Georgia. Vicki co-created five award winning international wiki-centric projects, the Flat Classroom® Project, the NetGenEd™ Project, previously known as the Horizon project, and Digiteen™, Eracism Project™, and A Week in the Life Elementary Flat Classroom® Project with teacher Julie Lindsay, currently in Bejing, China. Vicki is also a cofounder of the Flat Classroom Conference, a bi-annual gathering.
These projects have linked more than ten thousand students in both public and private schools from nineteen countries. These collaborative projects harness the most powerful technology tools available while operating on a minimal budget. Vicki has been featured in various media including Thomas Friedman's book, The World is Flat, Don Tapscott's Grown Up Digital, the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and the Boston Globe. Vicki blogs at the Cool Cat Teacher blog which won the 2008 Edublog Award for Best Teacher Blog and was named 2nd runner up in 2009 for Edublogs Best Teacher Blog Award.
