I love the Prairie Home Companion: News from Lake Wobegon with Garrison Keillor. These short audio shows are gutt-bustingly funny stories of life in Late Wobegon, Minnesota.  From Pastor Liz and her new boyfriend to the cute guy who had propane who was trading it for a warm place to stay (with pretty women), the stories are just so real.

Garrison Keillor is a master storyteller and a radio superstar in a day when they are few.

But with all of the snowdays, this one episode is going to make many educators laugh. He tells the story of “Jimmy Our Bus Driver” and I laughed so hard I had to relisten to it. While it is totally inappropriate in some ways, it really juxtaposes life in education on so many levels. Enjoy and have a laugh. You rock, educators!

Listen to Dr. Lee Graham talk about MOOCS and how they are impacting education.

Thanks to Dr. Lee Graham and Colin Osterhout for being the first guests on the show to talk about the #diffimooc (see Dr. Graham’s article “#Diffimooc launches next week.”)

I really wanted to understand what it is like to run a MOOC (Massively Open Online Course) and also what it is like to be a student (Colin) who is also a co-teacher – something unique to MOOCs. How can you have a massively open online course that is free and paid? What does it look like?

What is a MOOC? Show Notes

In this episode we go inside the buzz on MOOCs as we talk with a professor who started one and a Student who participated. Both believe MOOCs are indicative of a transformation that will impact all classrooms.Follow:@coolcatteacher@ak_leeg@costerhout @bamradionetwork
